What I’ve Learned From Drinking a Gallon of Water a Day– Day 2 Recap

Day 2 Recap: Day 2 was great! My workouts were weightlifting by doing leg day, 30 minutes on the treadmill, and another 30 minutes on the treadmill later in the day. I am really, really happy I got the treadmill. I also learned that I can never go to a gym to workout because I am singing and dancing to “WAP” and NO ONE wants to see that. Anyways, Day 2 was good- no complaints.

Water. We all know we need it. And we all don’t drink it. But can we actually see and feel improvements if we are consistent with it?

Now, I know there is a lot of debate about drinking a gallon of water a day. I’ve read some articles that say you need to drink half of your weight in ounces of water. Some things I have read say drink a gallon. Like I have mentioned before, I am not an expert. So anything I say is just my opinion and what works for me. Please do your own research and find what works for you. But I believe you should drink enough water that you obviously aren’t thirsty and that your urine (sorry if this is TMI) is a pale yellow. I don’t like it clear, I prefer it a pale yellow. Obviously you can also drink too much water, so you never want that. You need to find what is best for you.

What’s best for me is a gallon a day. I am currently on day 39 of drinking a gallon day and I really have noticed a lot of changes.

I also get asked a lot how much I pee, haha. The first week I seriously barely went to the bathroom… at all. Like, I was one dehydrated bitch. Then about the next two weeks I was going to the bathroom every 20 minutes. It was kind of annoying. Now that I have been doing it for awhile, I go to the bathroom the normal amount. So if you’re worried you will have to go all of the time just know that it does pass.

Skin- My skin has truly never looked this good. At almost 35 years old I still get breakouts. But since drinking all of this water, my skin has looked GOOD. My skin is clear, bright, and my makeup goes on even better. My lips are not chapped anymore. My skin itself is not dry. I can honestly feel and see such a difference.

Sleep- I don’t know if this is a thing, but I am sleeping way better. Even before having a baby, I never slept well. I never slept more than 4 hours a night. I was always tired. And at the end of last year I was so foggy and nervous about driving because I was scared I would fall asleep (my son was also having sleep issues, so it was all a hot mess). I sleep so well now, I feel rested when I wake up, and I’m not waking up in the middle of the night dying of thirst and needing to down a glass of water.

Misc- I feel more full throughout the day. I feel like I have more energy. I feel less sore. And I just feel better.

I do also drink coffee, tea, and Coke Zero, but I only count my water towards my gallon.

And if you need some help getting more water in, add some flavor! Sometimes I drink plain water, sometimes I add Mio, and right now I am on a kick of adding lemon to my cup all day. I also have a gallon jug, but pour it in a smaller cup with a straw. It feels way less daunting and it’s easy to get through the day. You can also put timers on your phone or say every hour you need to drink so much. Try it all out and see what works for you!

I promise you will see and feel a difference. My next goal is to make it to 60 days and maybe I will give myself a little prize 🙂
