My SkinCare Routine

I have been so proud of my skin lately. It’s taken me a long time to be happy with my skin, but I think I am here.

In high school, I had pretty bad acne leading to discoloration, redness, scars, and large pores. Then add in age and now I have wrinkles… and still breakouts. But now since my new routine I get one pimple the week before my period and that’s it. Ever. I am thrilled with that and I am slowly starting to see my wrinkles, redness, and discoloration fade.

I am not a skin expert. This is really what works for me… I suggest you really try things out, learn about your skin, and find what works for you. I have noticed that Vitamin C improves my skin quickly, so I have some new products coming in that contain Vitamin C. If I like them, I will update my routine in case you want to try them out, too.

The first chart I’m going to share is from Cosmopolitan. Now, I do not use all of these products, but I do follow the order of the ones I use. I thought it was a pretty handy chart in case you are like I was and don’t know what order to really do things in:

I hope that will be helpful!

Okay, so here is my Morning Routine (And I am here to warn you that my routine is VERY SIMPLE):

-I start off with Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser for normal to oily skin. They also make one for dry to normal skin. I started using this the day I found out I was pregnant and this has completely changed my face. A bottle also lasts me around 6 months.

-Then I use The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Hydrating Serum. This gives me hydration and has improved my skin’s texture without making me feel too oily. I think hyaluronic acid is incredible.

-Next is RoC Retinol Correction Anti-Wrinkle + Firming Eye Cream. The jury is still out on this one as I haven’t been using it that long yet. I see an instant tightening and then it goes away. I may be trying a new one in about a month if I don’t see any results.

-Finally, I use Olay Complete Moisturizer for Oily Skin. They also make this for sensitive skin. I have been using this moisturizer for probably around 7-8 years. It has SPF, it does not make me oily or greasy, and it always sits well under makeup. I absolutely love this moisturizer.

Nighttime Routine:

-I use the same face wash/ 3-4 times a week I use a face exfoliator like Neutrogena Hydro Boost. If you have sensitive skin, I would really be careful with scrubs.

-Then I use a Vitamin C Serum. I am obsessed with Vitamin C for my skin and I believe it has really helped my wrinkles and brightens my skin. I have a few new vitamin c products coming in, so I will keep you updated. I have tried a few different vitamin c serums and have loved them all.

-I use my eye cream again

-Next is my night cream which is Derma E Vitamin C Intense Night Cream. Incredible. 10/10

-Then I use Physicians Formula Bright Booster Oil Elixir with a Gua Sha to smooth out my wrinkles. I thought I would hate putting an oil on my face, but my skin is SMOOTH! Also, here is a video if you want to learn how to use a Gua Sha.

-Finally, I use an essential oils mix that I made at a girls night on my biggest wrinkles (forehead and smile lines). I do not have the recipe for that, but I will get it from my friend if anyone is interested. I don’t know anything about essential oils, but it smells great and I believe it’s helping, lol.

-And if I have any period pimples, I used pimple patches. The best ones are from Dollar Tree… I swear. They are incredible and it keeps me from picking at my face.

That’s pretty much it. I know I want to start using retinol, but I have used it before and it burned the hell out of my face. So maybe I can research that and see what I come up with.

Again, you need to find what is best for you, but this is what I am happy with right now. If you have any favorite products, please share them with me!
