Things I’m Proud Of

So, yea. I had a rough day yesterday and I’m not thrilled with the slump I was in. But I woke up today feeling a lot better and I thought it would be a nice thing to talk about some things I am proud of and some changes I have made so I do not feel like I did yesterday.

-I bought a bunch of gluten free foods yesterday. I decided I am finally taking control of that part of my health and fully jumping in to be gluten free. I feel really good about it and I am going to stick to it.

-I started Couch 2 5K today. If you don’t know what it is, it’s an app that helps you go from not being able to do a 5K at all to being able to run (at whatever pace is yours) a 5K. Each day takes you between running and walking to build your stamina. Obviously as the program continues, you are doing more running (in my case, very slow jogging) than walking. I have been doing the treadmill everyday and I do it on an incline, but I don’t feel like I am challenging myself. And we all know I like to do little challenges. I did this program years ago and really loved it. And just from doing it this morning, my legs are SORE. I also did lower body weightlifting, so I’m sure that doesn’t help.

-I am going to begin these two books. I have read You are a Badass probably 4 times, but it is such a good book to revisit every year. I would recommend it to everyone. I have not read You are a Badass Everyday, and I am excited to start it. From what I have gathered so far, it seems like there are tasks to do everyday. I like that idea. So it’s more of a short read everyday than a book you can sit and read through. I will keep you updated if I find it to be beneficial or not.

I really thought I had more things I was proud of, haha. Mostly I am proud that I woke up in a better headspace. I think after a very challenging day yesterday (in many ways), a good night of sleep really changed things for me.

I am still doing the challenge! And I will continue to kick ass at it.
